This Privacy Policy applies to the AbegBuy coming soon page at abegbuy.com and covers the collection of your name, email address, and WhatsApp phone number for our pre-launch waitlist only. We Do Not Collect
At this coming soon stage we do not collect your home address, payment information, identity documents, or any other personal data beyond your name, email address, and WhatsApp phone number. This will change when the full AbegBuy platform launches, a comprehensive updated Privacy Policy will be published at that time.

How We Collect Your Data
We collect your name, email address, and WhatsApp phone number in one way only at this stage:

You voluntarily entered your name, email address, and WhatsApp phone number into the notification form on our coming soon page and tapped 'Notify me.' By doing so you gave your explicit consent for us to contact you by email and on WhatsApp when AbegBuy launches.
Cookies and Tracking
Our coming soon page may use basic analytics cookies to track page visits, time spent on page, and referral sources. These cookies do not identify you personally, they collect aggregated, anonymous data about how visitors interact with our page. We use this information solely to improve the page experience before launch.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party marketing trackers on the coming soon page.

Our Legal Basis for Processing Your Data
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, we are required to have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. Our legal basis for processing your name, email address, and WhatsApp phone number is:

Your Right to Withdraw Consent

We use your name, email address, and WhatsApp phone number for one primary purpose and two secondary purposes:

Legal Disclosure

How We Store and Protect Your Data
We take the security of your personal data seriously. As a platform whose entire value proposition is trust, we apply the same standard to how we handle your data that we apply to how we handle your money.

Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you via email or WhatsApp within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, as required by the NDPA 2023. We will also notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) within the legally required timeframe.

How Long We Keep Your Data
We do not keep your data longer than necessary. The following retention periods apply to the coming soon waitlist:

Your Rights Under Nigerian Law
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, you have the following rights regarding your personal data. We are committed to honouring all of these rights promptly and without charge.

How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of the rights above, contact us at privacy@abegbuy.com or send a WhatsApp message to our business number with the subject 'Data Rights Request.' We will acknowledge your request within 24 hours and action it within the timeframes stated above. There is no charge for exercising your rights.
SECTION 10
Children's Privacy
AbegBuy is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age. If you are under 18, please do not submit your phone number on our coming soon page.
If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 18, we will delete that data immediately. If you believe a child has submitted their data to us, please contact us at privacy@abegbuy.com and we will take immediate action.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as AbegBuy develops. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document and, where the changes are significant, notify waitlist members via WhatsApp before the changes take effect.
The most current version of this Privacy Policy will always be available at abegbuy.com/privacy. Your continued presence on our waitlist after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019. Any disputes arising from this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
